There have been several postings by me and others over the last three or
four days with no response. I will try one more time.
Is there a problem with the network configure program in 5.1? In all
the previous versions of redhat I have used, you simply entered all the
info for your isp, acivated the interface and away you went. With 5.1,
the default route is never set apparently. It is selected in the setup,
but never implemented. A route -n or ifconfig shows only one ppp route
with no default. If I ping the connection, it gives a return. However,
nothing past the ppp connection device is available. I tried to connect
manually with minicom, but apparently ppp is not compiled into the
kernal, since pppd will not start due to lack of ppp kernal support.
The FAQ's and HowTo's are useless now, since they are a couple of
versions old.
