Greetings all
My name is Peter Booth, and I've just joined this list...Ok, that's out
of the way...
I'm running RH5.0 with 2.0.32 kernel...downloaded all the KDE stuff, the
QT runtime stuff, RPMed them...verified their installation, etc...now I
know KDE isn't a specific Redhat question, but no-one in the c.o.l.x NG
could help out here...
Essentially, I want ot run KDE, not fvwm...the KDe install guide says to
remove all refs to other WM's in ~/.Xclients or etc/X11/Xclients and put
their script startkde in...then startx...nothing happens...startkde
executes, then X quits, no error messages or zip...I made a ~/.Xclients
file first as X reads it before the /etc/X11 one...I've done exec
startkde, startkde by itself...nothing...if anyone has a script that
works, I'd appreciate it...the path is correct to BTW, I have
/opt/kde/bin in my $PATH, so there's no dramas there either...I just
can't get KDE going...
Any help appreciated and hello once again to the list!
