I think something like "tar czf foo.tgz `rpm -ql foo`" is all that the
original poster asks for, although one loses a lot of useful information
here.
btw, is there a way to "reconstruct" (I don't know if this is the right
word to use here) a rpm file from an installed rpm? Let's say we installed
foo with 'rpm -i foo-1.0.i386.rpm' long time ago. Now we cannot find
foo-1.0.i386.rpm on any ftp site again. Even worse, we cannot find the
source for foo. so my question is, since we know foo is installed on this
machine, can we just grab the files from this machines and put them
together again into a rpm file based on the rpm database on this machine?
Is this possible? One problem I can think of is we won't have src.rpm.
Another is we may lose the pre and post install scripts. (did rpm database
keep the pre and post install scripts?)
