Heck, I rebooted the machine several times. Still, I am unable to get the 
out.going batch file written, so no outgoing news. Since I am running 
RH4.0 out of the box, I expect that someone else is having a similar 
problem?  After a week fighting with INN, my next step is to do an rpm -e 
and obtain the source myself and start all over.

Of course, I really don't want to do that ;) If anyone has INN running 
successfully would you consider a private email exchange of some config 
files for comparison?
