Almost definitely not. The only PC video card to support
this feature is the ET-6000 and getting that feature
to work with X would probably be a horrible pain.
For all other video cards, there's really no way to
do it. (Well, you might be able to fake a 8 bpp visual, but
that probably wouldn't give acceptable performance).
