Please put on your Sherlock Holmes caps and help with a piece of
detective work. :-)
I recently recompiled my kernel and moved from 1.2.13 to 2.0.0 I have
been receiving an error message "failed dependcies." For example, when I
run rpm to upgrade a package, I receive a message "failed dependencies:
libc.so.5 required..." I checked in /lib and libc.so.5 is there. I ran
ldconfig -p, and sure enough libc.so.5 is in the ld.so.cache.
Why would libc.so.5 (and a bunch of other libraries) show up in the
shared library cache and yet a program be unable to find or use them?
Thanks for your insight...
Fred.
