I'd second this. When I first encountered Linux I found the absence of
a wordprocessor to be a problem, but having taken the plunge and begun
to learn Latex and vim I'm beginning to prefer them. It's a bit like
Linux itself; takes a fair amount of getting used to, but worth it in the
end.
