I just recently installed Redhat v4, I need some help on getting my
X-Window manager setup. I installed MetroX, TheNextLevel and fvwm95
(which I don't really like, I'm in the "If I wanted Win95...." camp).
Here's what I need some help with:
1) I'd really like to use an OpenWindows type manager, I didn't see
olvwm on the cd, is anybody using this with RedHat v4?, and if so, how
did you install it?, ie, what process did you go through to get rid of
TheNextLevel stuff and install and configure olvwm? (and where did you
get it?)
2) I also like Caldera's LookingGlass, has anyone been able to
successfully install it on top of RedHat v4? How did you do it? Within
the last week or so I read a response from someone who said they
installed the lg* and lga* rpms, I must've missed a step or two because
this didn't work for me. If you have LG running on RedHat v4 I'd really
appreciate a mini-howto or something. I'll even help with it if someone
can give me some guidence (I must admit I'm not really sure where to
start with all the NextLevel config files, hell, I was just starting to
get the hang of fvwm when this comes along <g>).
Lastly) Whenever I start X, I get a core dump in whatever home
directory I start it from. I know this was discussed here awhile back,
but I never read about a solution, did anyone come up with a fix?
