Anyone problems building an ld.so (S)RPM?

Hi!
I seen zto have problems building an ld.so rpm (Its time to go from 1.714
to 1.8.5 now :-) and everytime rpm bombs out when finding dependencies.
My machine is a stock RH 4 with current updates applied.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Or does one have to do the build
in a 'special' way?
voyager:redhat> rpm -ba SPECS/ld.so-1.8.5-1.spec
