epson stylus color printing

i'm trying to configure my epson stylus color (the old one) with RH 4.0.
I used the printtool to configure it. I read and followed the directions
in the RH 4.0 manual (which I read off the web site).
I have a symbolic links from /dev/lp to /dev/lp0
in my spool directory there is a file entitled "lock".
my printcap looks like this:
# /etc/printcap
