SUDO RPM error

The only problem I have now is the version of rpm I have will not let me
install sudo.1.5. I get the following error:
only packages with major numbers <= 2 are supported by this version of RPM
error: sudo-1.5.3-1.i386.rpm cannot be installed
Which rpm package do I need to upgrade to?
