I have one. I always do, for every OS that I use.

If he/she doesn't they are either a programming genius or a phenomenal
fool (and I tend to believe the latter.)

Almost impossible to do that on a disk. I have four systems of my own
here and I use a differnet disk for each system. I have tried to boil
it down to common factors. Just differences in the BIOS, disks and
network cards are enough that I found it was easier to make a disk for
each machine. I suppose if all you wanted to do in an emergency was to
run fsck it would be possible. Just MHO.
