The way xntpd does it (there is an rpm of this in contrib) is to use
multiple remote sites (three are suggested) and multiple connections
and then to average things out in a careful way.
I find xntpd an exceptionally good way of handling time on Linux - I
just wish I could find and ntp client for NT4...
