Sorry, not intended that way. But, not knowing much about PAM except
that it does get involved with authorizing certain actions, it was a shot
in the dark. I thought it might have been blocking the request somehow.
Got your attention, though ;-). Kidding.

I'll accept that. But, for the not-so-security-minded person running this
machine on a strictly local network, is there a way of configuring the Linux
portmapper to forward these? I'm going to guess the answer is "no" since
you didn't already mention that, but .....
Thanks for the reply. And, on a personal note, keep up the good work at
RedHat. In spite of all the controversies about Colgate, I think it's a
darn fine product and I recommend it to everyone interested in Linux!
