HELP: gpm stalls boot up process!

After upgrading to Redhat 4.0 from 3.03, boot up hangs at gpm section.
How can I finish bootup and login to fix this.
I browsed archives regarding gpm, but found no one with bootup problems.
My mouse is Logitech 3 button serial pilot mouse and worked fine until I
upgraded to RedHat 4.0 this morning.
