I'm attempting to use mgetty .99 for PPP dialups to my redhat 4.0+ linux
dist. So far, it almost works.. I have some log files if anyone is interested
and can help me, I'd rather not spew a 4k log file to the mailing list if
possible. I have PPP setup in my kernel, ppp is installed via redhat 4.0,
I've read the Serial-Howto, PPP Howto, and Net2 Howto, plus several other docs.
Still nothing works.. The modem answers, and attempts to validate my account
and password, (via a win95 ppp dialup to the linux system via modem), and just
appears to hang, and never does anything else on the client end. I tried using
mgetty .98, no luck, and uugetty, no luck. Mgetty .99 is configured for AutoPPP
and fairly standard. Everything appears to be setup properly, and aside from the
connections not working, I get no apparent errors. Send me mail if you think
you can help, or if people prefer, I can spew the log on the list.
