I've been a Linux user for some years, but just recently installed
Redhat 4.0 after getting more disk space.

My problem is that I can't get doom to work. In X, 'rundoom' says
something about not liking 16-bit depth (and I like 16-bit depth) so
that's not nice.

Even worse, when I try and get it running on a text console, it
brings up the splash screen but completely locks the keyboard, and
I have no choice but to reboot.
