Well I must have messed up somewhere. After 12 hours yesterday I was finally
able to get redhat4 to find my ne2000 card on bootup. It took a lot of help,
reading and a little hacking to make it happen. By playing with lilo and
conf.modules it now works, but that isn't the way I want to do it. I will
need to recompile the kernel successfully sometimes in the next three day if
I am going to sell the idea of redhat4 to the man that pays the bills. I
tried twice to do a new make on the kernel yesterday and both time got the
same results. I am either doing it wrong , or I forgot to get a package form
some where. I am getting about two pages of unresolved symbols in modules
and mare pages than I can scrool through with insmod errors. I do realize
that for a modular kernel I have to supportconfig_modules and
config_kerneld, but what else. I even tried the monolithic method with the
same results. Maybe I am messing up by doing the old proven method of making
a zdisk for testing instead of the suggested zimage.
Anyone anywhere got a hit to what this old man is doing wrong, I sure don't
what to slackware on another server.
Thanks Mel
