Date: Wed, 23 Oct 1996 12:04:52 -0400 (EDT) From: Bryan Taylor <bryan@interport.net> To: redhat-list@redhat.com Resent-From: redhat-list@redhat.com Reply-To: redhat-list@redhat.com After upgrading, this Intel NE2000 machine has no networking. The source of the error seems to be either in: ne2000 and having to add a line to /etc/conf.modules (which I did) and adding a route, which doesn't work quite right, as in: route add 1.1.1.2 route add 1.1.1.0 gw 1.1.1.2 1.1.1.1 being the fictious address of the host in question. Both lines will be taken and added with gateway of "0.0.0.0" and attempts to ping, say another host on the network like 1.1.1.10 won't choke with "network unreachable" but simply won't reach the host. This is a production machine and they're trying to lynch me. I hope I didn't foreget something obvious. Thanks. ----- Bryan Taylor, NetPress Co.
