There's ongoing work to make Linux into a PnP-aware OS (talk to Andrew
Mileski, aem@ott.hookup.net). Meanwhile, all you really need for most
cases is the isapnptools.
I uploaded an RPM for isapnptools-1.8 to ftp.redhat.com's incoming
directory.
I have isapnp configure my PnP Gravis Ultrasound Pro card on bootup,
and then the GUS driver just uses it as a regular device.
