Hi,
I have the line /usr/X11R86/bin/fvwm2-95 in my .xinitrc file. When I type
startx, the process begin, the screen flashes to the graphics mode briefly,
but then returns to the VC with an error /usr/X11R86/bin/fvwm2-95 no such
file or directory. If I type the "/usr/X11R86/bin/fvwm2-95 " at the
prompt, the shell is able to find the program(of course it wont run since X
is not running). Why does this happen? Obviously, the file exists and can
be run as a normal user, why cant .xinitrc run it? If I login as root and
use the exact same .xinitrc file, it will work. My system is a Pentium
with 16 megs, stb lightspeed video card. I just installed RH 4.0, with all
the updates on the redhat website. I never had these problems under 3.0.3!

Frustrated,

Jim Armbruster
