Ascend Ascend Ascend.
I can't argue strongly enough for having an external router that
accepts Ethernet.
I love the little "Click" that RJ45's make when you plug 'em in !
Ahhhhh.
Oh ! Not to mention, if you really want to go fast, the Ascend
stuff does the Inverse-Multiplexing thing AND AND AND it does
compression on top of everything.
It has neat features like it will shutdown the ISDN connection
if there is actually no traffic, and can automatically reinstate the
connection in 3 seconds or less (within tollerance for TCP/IP).
- Save you on your phone bill if it is metered, go really fast if
you need it, etc., -
I could be wrong, but I believe Ascend is going to discontinue, if they
haven't already, the Pipeline 25 and maybe even the 50, and go with
a model 75 ?
There should be relatively inexpensive and way powerful Ascend stuff
available if you look around. I know that they are spendy if you
buy new (might as well get a fractional T1...)
