I've noted your other points which aren't already addresed by the errata.

Why? You can build statically linked X apps when you just have XFree86-devel
installed. The fonts shouldn't require XFree86 -- you may want to use
the fonts for another app.

So you shouldn't be able to use Fvwm95-icons if you use twm?

sendmail-cf probably makes sense, I don't think sendmail-doc does though.

True.

We tend to use dependencies for packages that won't work w/o having something
else installed, not for cases where that something else is recommended.

You can press 'F1' (or perhaps F2) during the package selection and see the
description (and the line at the bottom of the screen mentions this).
