Greetings,
I have the Adaptec 2940UW, and although I have carefully followed the
directions in the Errata for the RH 4.0, I am not able to boot from the
hard disk. Using the kernal images discusses in the intel Errata I can
boot from a floppy and that kernal finds my SCSI Adapter and correctly
identifies my hard drive but even when I copy over that vmlinuz and rerun
lilo, I can not boot from the hard disk. I don't actually understand why
I can boot from the floppy and not from the hard disk using the same
kernal image, but I am resigned to rebuilding the kernal using 2.0.25 and
hoping that the bugs are out.
But I am new to linux, so don't take my word for it.
