NT will put a signature in a forbidden area of the MBR (ask yourself
who did write NT and you'll know why) and Lilo (at least version 0.19;
a newer version with this "problem" fixed is due out soon) will erase
it when it updates its loader map (every time you install/move the
kernel): as a result, in some cases, NT will completely reassign your
drive letters, wreaking havoc among your applications.
While reading one of the NT newsgroups, I've been told that there is a
solution to make NT's loader start Lilo in a compatible way and I'm
waiting to get the little program that does the trick.
In the meanwhile, I'm running Lilo off a floppy and I'm quite happy
with NT4 (much better than 95, though far from perfect).
