Hello all!
I've got a couple of questions I hope someone can help me out with.
1) What should the correct permissions be for /dev? Last night, I was
wanting to change them for /home/ftp/dev/ and got /dev by mistake.
Everything still seems to be working but I'd like to know what they're
supposed to be out of the box. I mistakenly changed them to drwx--x--x.
2) I tried to access my system from work this morning. I left my system
connected to my ISP, via modem and dynamic IP. I was able to get apache
to respond but could not telnet or ftp in. I am able to telnet and ftp
locally to myself if that helps. At work, I am behind a firewall on a T1.
Also, I am not able to even retrieve my mail from my ISP through the company
system through the direct connection. I can if I use dialup networking
in Win95. Is any of this related as to why I can telnet or ftp? If so,
any ideas what to do?
