it sounds like its trying to autodetect the ether card, but not being
very successful, I suggest you try and set the parameters at the
lilo prompt, or in your /etc/lilo.conf on append="", I think I had
to do that with my Compaq Prolinea p75e, make sure you compile the CMD
bug fixes at least my PCI is a buggy one according to linux on my compaq.
