I was told by someone that the S3 chipset has a register at 0x12e8
and the motherboards did not decode all the address lines and so 02e8 and
12e8 both decoded to the same address space and so they
conflicted. Since I am not 100% shure someone please correct me here.
If this is true you will have to move the modem to another port.
