I notice there are several packages in 
    ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/redhat-4.0/updates/i386
that are newer than October 31, 1996, but there's no mention of these
on the Red Hat Linux (4.0) General Errata page at
    http://www.redhat.com/support/docs/rhl/rh40-errata-general.html

Are these updates "official" and/or "recommended"?  Why aren't they on
the errata page?
