In the 2.x kernel the Mitsumi drivers were broken, Michael patched the kernel
source, built the new one and, voila!, we had a kernel boot image we could use.
Obviously, if you recompile the kernel, you are using the un-patched kernel
source and you are back to square 1. What you (and I) need is a source patch to
made available.

Redhat? Pretty please?
