You need to read the documentation for qmail. For security "root" *NEVER*
gets mail. It is all directed at the "alias" user. By default that is in
/var/qmail/alias.
If you have a default qmail setup, set MAIL to /var/qmail/alias/Mailbox for
your root user, if you like.
