I have an Adaptec 1510 card in a PC here. I use the Adaptec 152x driver
(AHA 1510 and 152x use the same chip-set) on Linux and it works like a
charm. Port 0x140 and IRQ 12 work both under Linux and Win95.

According the Linux SCSI-HOWTO, the Adaptec 152x driver does indeed
support the 1510 adapter.

The card is connected to an external CD-ROM writer and I can easily
mount CD-ROMs for reading (I haven't tried to burn CDs with it, though;
I do that via Win95). A PC wizard advised me, though, that the 1510
isn't quite good for handling hard-disks, so you might run into the
(unlikely) event of running into troubles there.

Hope this helps!
