I rather expected to get caught on that; 10 minutes after I posted. 8-(.
The comment was neither properly written, nor properly expanded.
The intent (completely obscured here) was to admit that I've used dip to
good effect in the past, and personally found dip easier to use that a
script with chat & pppd.
My appologies for sowing confusion and poor misinformation.
