Is there some reason that the 2.0.x kernels are setting the Don't fragment
bit in the header of every packet ? This is causing me insermountable
problems when using slip. (I turned it off) The 1.2.x kernels did not do
this. With slip if the packet won't fit in the slip packet it should
return a ICMP network unreachable. I suppose this is to trigger a mtu
size discovery routine.
This shows its ugly head when telneting to a 2.0.x machine and if you get
a packet with more than 296 bytes poof no data. I have also seen it when
checking mail via pop.
Chris Laforet, my friend found this one. :)
Any ideas ? I just commented it out in the kernel source and recompiled.
