I've only found references to this in the mailing list archives, not an
answer. I'm currently using the IMAP POP3 server supplied with RedHat 4.0
which works. I installed the qpopper-2.2-2.i386.rpm and set up inetd.conf
ok, restarted inetd and tried the server. It will not accept the
password, just saying -ERR password supplied is incorect.
/var/log/messages says itopia in.qpopper[264]: Failed attempted login to
charles from localhost.

However, on reinstalling ipop3d, while testing it I typed the _wrong_
password by mistake and I _still_ managed to gain access to my account.

Firstly, can anybody help with qpopper not accepting the passwords which I
know are correct, and secondly, how do I secure ipop3d?

Thanks

Charles
