Sorry to followup my own post:
jm As noted, I am unable to install RH-4.0 from a purchased RH distribution.
jm When I try to tell the install program where to find my cm206/cm260 CD drive,
jm it just reports that it can't find such a beast in my system. Autoprobe
jm works just as well. Updated boot.img works just as well.

The massive response [zero] leads me to ask:
Has _anyone_ successfully installed RH-4.0 from a Phillips cm206 drive?

Can anyone lay out the procedure to make a RH-4.0 _install_ disk?

TIA -- jmm
