Like I wrote to Matt yesterday, I don't believe his problems are
termination I believe he has a problem with Buslogic driver
probeing the devices. I have a similiar setup with the BT958 and
an internal SCSI Wide terminated and several external SCSI Narrow
devices hung off the external 68 pin connector converted to 50pins
terminated at the last device of course, I had the same problem of 
hanging, until I got the new device driver from:

It turns out that the Buslogic driver included with the newer kernals
can have some problems probeing certain hardware.
