Those IP numbers are guaranteed to never be used on the real Internet.
In other words, you can set up machines using as many of these numbers as
you want on your internal network without worrying about getting numbers
assigned to you by InterNIC
Any hosts that you assign any of these numbers to can never be connected
directly to the Internet because of this, although you can use a proxying
firewall to provide access.
