Well, now I'm confused, but relieved. I got the chance at lunch to try again
and the mount of the cdrom succeeded (twice). VC3 and VC4 looked ok. I'll
have to do it again later to actually install linux, so, if I get the error
again I will note everything and send it to this list.
Last night I tried several times to mount the cdrom, they all failed. This
morning before work, I tried again and that also failed. Why it worked this
last time, I have no idea.
