I fixed my mouse (Device or resource busy) error by killing gpm before running
startx.

However, now that I'm in xwindows, I can do everything but run an xterm or color
xterm window. All of the x applications work, including a netscape version that I
had previously installed on RH 3.0.3. However, when I try a new shell or Color Xterm
from the start menu, nothing happens. Obviously this seriously limits the usefulness
of xwindows.

Can anybody help me, or provide an end-around?

I noticed that some people had installed XFree86 3.2. Is there an rpm for it yet?
