Mike, I tried rebuilding the kernel previously (I saw the messages about no
ptys) but to no avail. The .FVWM-errors file contains (at the end):
nxterm: can't resolve symbol 'XkbLookupKeySym'
nxterm: can't resolve symbol 'XkbLookupKeySym'
No mention of ptys.
