sendmail problem

Here is what I *exactly* did (in Colgate):
1) I installed
qmail-0.91-1.i386.rpm I did not touch any files, except using
the control panel I removed qmail from runlevel 3 and 5.
2) Irebooted the machine (into runlevel 5). Sendmail starts but then
it dies. I have the following in /var/log/maillog:
Oct 22 11:52:39 moni sendmail[448]: problem creating SMTP socket
Oct 22 11:52:44 moni sendmail[448]: NOQUEUE: SYSERR(root):
opendaemonsocket: can
not bind: Address already in use
Any clues?

Please answer privately as well: at present I do not get the redhat
digest (due to not working sendmail).
