I do not recall who started this thread, however if you want most of
F90's capabilities, and don't need to support older Fortran
capabilities (equivalence, common, alternate returns, etc.) you
might try F. Check out

for details. There is a link to a free (cost, not GPL) Linux F
compiler there.

This may be sufficient for your purposes. I'm going to try to
install it tonight and test some code on it.
