There is nice user-level documentation on the entire ext2 fs, including
fsck and other e2fs tools, on sunsite in the LDP. The info may be a
little dated now, but the non-need for defragging is discussed in some
detail. The danger of the present message may lie in providing the
curious with a pointer to a pointer to the fstools. Be careful out
there, and heed all warnings.
