Good!
Add this line to /etc/conf.modules
options lp lp=0,0,0x378,0
Then run "rmmod lp" and try printing. If that doesn't work, it
should at least give different error messages... If it tells you
"lp1: Not found", then your hardware is not performing to spec.

Your printcap actually has nothing to do with this part of the
problem. Right now, the kernel is simply saying that it can't
get at the device at all, and nothing you do in the printcap
file will do anything to help it.
