Hello all,

I had the same problem as most of the mitsumi CD-ROM owners
trying to upgrade/install RH 4.0. When the installer tried
to mount the CD-ROm filesystem it returned the error that
there was no disk in the drive.

My CD-ROM is at base address 0x340 and IRQ 10.

I decided I'd try to use the mcdx driver instead (which is
included as a module on the boot disk).

I recompiled the install program and changed all references
to mcd to mcdx (4 of them I think). I had to change the mcd
device major number of 23 to the mcdx major number of 20.

I installed the new install program onto the boot disk image
and when I rebooted it used the mcdx driver. Strangely, I had
to specify mcdx=0x340,11 (not 10 as I expected).

After that the install worked fine.

Regards,
Dermot
