tips needed on ppp (heard that one before? ;-D)

I received 4.0 today... what a GREAT improvement!!! Thanx Red Hat!
It was easy to get my dialup ppp connection up and running with the
network configuration tool. But now when it works I'm a bit
confused... how do I start/stop the connection at bash? Any scripts
or tools that uses the /etc/systemconf* files I made with the X based
netconfig tool? or do I need to make those scripts myself?
Please help with some tips on this.....
