2.0 Kernel question...

Hi, I've upgraded to the RH 4.0 with the 2.0.18 kernel. I want to
include sound support in the kernel. I could do this under the RH 3.0.3.
But I've discoverd that its different with RH 4.0 and kernel 2.0.18.
I tried : make config
and got: make: *** No rule to make target `config'. Stop.
I decided I'd better get some advice before blindly stepping out on thin ice.
Could someone tell me where I can get info on how to buile these new 2.0
kernels?
