I too had the above "unresolved symbols..." messages and took the above
advice.  I deleted the directories under /lib/modules/2.0.18 and reran 
'make modules' and 'make modules_install'.  Afterward, I got one more 
such message referring to /lib/modules/default/iBSC.  How to safely 
fix this?

Also, I'm getting about several messages at boot up as follows:

	modprobe: can't locate module net-pf-#
(where # is 4, 5, 6, etc.)

I built my kernel with module support, however did not create any modules, as
the options I need fit without creating a too-large kernel.  Any advice?
