I am having a bit of a problem with what appears to be a corrupted
rpm database.
When i went to upgrade to the 4.0 with the CD, i noticed that it hung
at the 'determining what packages to upgrade' stage.
I rebooted, to my normal system, and did an rpm -qa ... i get a list of
the stuff i've installed, AND then it starts looping on:
e2fsprogs-1.04-5
elm-2.4.25-4
xlockmore-3.11-1
(null)-(null)-(null)
(null)-(null)-(null)
...
this will go on forever. until i kill it.
So, the next step is to rebuild the rpm db. but i've found nothing
in the man pages, nor in the book, nor the readmes, nor in a search
of the RPM stuff on redhat. i must have missed it.
does anyone have an idea on how to rebuild this db? so i can upgrade
without wiping the drive and upgrading...grin.
/john
